| Title: | Helpful Advice For Moving Home: Remove Stress and Add Organization |
| Article: | Even though changing homes may be exciting and refreshing, the actual moving process can be a complete pain in the neck. The first tedious task is choosing the things which should be kept and choosing the things you need to throw away. This will be followed by the packing of things, cleaning of the house you are about to evacuate, as well as cleaning of the house you will be moving into. For those who do not follow a certain process, moving homes cannot only give you lots of stress but it will eat some of your precious time as well. Fortunately, there are some pieces of advice for moving which can make everything a little bit easier. The first advice for moving home is to make a list of all the things that need to be packed. Creating a record list of all the contents of the boxes can be useful in finding things effortlessly during the unpacking phase. Also, placing a number on each box for easy identification can be useful. In putting labels, the markings should be specific. For example, “Porcelain dishes’’ are easily identified compared to a label saying “Kitchen plates”. Also, being specific on the label of the boxes can help the packers and movers identify the ones which they should handle with extra care. Another important advice for moving is to stock up on the supplies needed for packing and these are: boxes, packing tape, re-sealable materials, and bubble wrap. For boxes bought from moving companies, they can usually be refunded if unused. However, getting grocery boxes can save you more money. During the packing, you should properly secure the bottom of the box with packing tape to make sure the box would not spill the contents once lifted. Dainty things and furniture like glass displays should be wrapped with newspapers and slid into re-sealable plastics for safety. In using newspapers, however, choose pages which do not have much print as the ink can stain the items being covered. Home furniture like televisions, computer monitors, and DVD players, on the other hand, should be secured with bubble wrap and placed on their own boxes for protection. When it comes to saving on boxes, an approximate number of 10 extras should be left for emergency last-minute packing of things like the beddings, cleaning supplies, and clothing. Another advice for moving home is to use wardrobe boxes. These are tall boxes which are effective to use for lightweight yet bulky items like pillows, blankets, and comforters. These containers can also accommodate clothes that need to remain hanging during the travel. Wardrobe boxes can be ordered from the moving company. If you want more containment for these boxes, you can put more clothes into it but try to measure the closets first to make sure the clothes can perfectly fit the space in the boxes. Moreover, in using boxes, one must remember to never load them with too much weight because this can cause more trouble than convenience. Lightweight things like clothing should never be mixed with bulky heavy items like shoes or fabric bolts. The last advice for moving home is to make everything color-coded. Use a different hue for each type of things so you can locate stuff easily. For example, Red can be marked on the boxes containing fragile and breakable items while Blue can go for those containing textiles and clothes. Note these colors on your list. This is not only convenient for the moving company but will also help you identify which box should go to certain area in the new house.
