| Title: | How to Create Beautiful Tin Candle Holders |
| Article: | If you want to create a beautiful way to hold and display your candles, or maybe even a creative, heartfelt gift, all you need is a simple tin can, and a little creativity. There are so many fun things you can do with it-this article describes just a few possibilities. The tin can has been around for years, providing many different projects which can created by using them. They are one of the most versatile mediums for crafts, aside from wood and foam. Perhaps best of all, they are dirt cheap, and give you a vintage look. Tin cans can be used to make all kinds of candle holders, and can give a unique touch to your home or even to your garden. In general, there are two primary size tin cans, soup cans, and coffee cans. Both offer a wide variety of different crafty and creative ideas. They can be cut, punched, painted, weathered, and modified in multiple ways. They can be set on top of a table or hung out in the garden, depending on the look you are going for. One of the coolest things you can do is to remove pieces of the frame, or punch holes in it. This is pretty easy, and just requires some cutting tools. You can even use a drill, or a hammer. Before you start anything, fill the can with water and freeze it. This will allow you to punch holes easier, and you will not bend the material in the process. It always helps to have some kind of plan or design in your head or on paper, so you know what you want to do. In fact, drawing the design out on paper allows you to modify it and then tape it around the tin can as a template. Think about whether or not you may want to paint it, or weather proof it for outside garden use. The possibilities are endless. If you want a classic western look, you could download of a silhouette graphic of a dog howling at the moon, of a pair of cowboy boots. Then simply cut out the scene that is on the surface. You could even trace the pattern in marker, and then remove it. You could either keep it the natural metallic color, or you could paint it black, or any color you want. Generally paining it black is a good idea, so that you do not notice any soot or heat discoloration. The light will also shine through better, and your pattern will be more noticeable. At night it will glow beautifully. Next, try punching two holes at the top, and you can hang it in a garden. You could even create several holes all over the entire thing, recreating the look of the night sky. Whatever you decide is up to you-you can do some research for ideas on the internet. Once you have cut out a design, painting time can finish the look of your candle holder. A light blue and white to match your kitchen decorations will add a unique touch. You can basically use any kind of embellishment you want, including ribbon, colored stones, and more. Peruse your local craft store, and look for inspiration. Buttons could be a cute addition as well. If you want something a little more intense and elaborate, you could try using a larger coffee can. You will have larger surface to work with, which can lend to greater creativity with your design. You could even cut holes about a half inch in diameter, and attach pieces of stained or any colored glass on the inside or it-this would look pretty cool. You could create an entire stained glass creation. The larger cans are also great for outdoors. Their large base is perfect for decks and walk ways, as they will not tip over easily. You could even incorporate them in a night time wedding reception. This will create a great vintage, country-style look to your celebration. With a little imagination and creativity, and maybe even a little bit of paint, you can make a fantastic gift, or even just something for yourself. After all, we often feel a great release of stress just by sitting down and creating.
